2019 Jaguar Xe
Vehicle Specs & Maintenance Data
The 2019 Jaguar Xe maintenance specs on this page cover the key fluids, torque values, and wear items you need for routine service. Use these numbers as a quick reference when performing oil changes, tire rotations, brake jobs, and other scheduled maintenance on your Jaguar Xe.
For oil changes, the 2019 Jaguar Xe takes 5W-20 Full Synthetic motor oil with a capacity of 6.9 quarts. Brake fluid type is DOT 4, the recommended coolant is OAT Coolant (Orange), and transmission fluid is ZF Lifeguard 8 (ATF). Always use the manufacturer-recommended fluids to maintain warranty coverage and engine longevity.
When mounting wheels on the Jaguar Xe, torque the lug nuts to 92 ft-lbs using a calibrated torque wrench. Over- or under-torquing can lead to warped brake rotors or loose wheels. Re-torque after 50 to 100 miles on newly installed wheels.
Owners of the 2019 Jaguar Xe have reported 5 common issues including "InControl Touch Pro Navigation and Touchscreen Failure", "2.0L Ingenium Diesel Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Clogging" and "Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Bushing Wear". Scroll down to the Diagnostics tab for detailed descriptions, solutions, and estimated repair costs.

InControl Touch Pro Navigation and Touchscreen Failure
The InControl Touch Pro infotainment system experiences touchscreen unresponsiveness, navigation freezing, and complete black screen events. Climate controls become inaccessible since they are routed through the touchscreen. The issue is most common after software updates or during cold starts.
A dealer software update to the latest InControl firmware can resolve many instances. If the touchscreen digitizer has failed, the entire infotainment display assembly requires replacement. Jaguar TSB JTB00456 addresses InControl screen failures on 2018 model year vehicles.
Est. Cost: $0 - $200 (software update) / $1,500 - $3,000 (display replacement)2.0L Ingenium Diesel Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Clogging
Diesel-equipped XE models experience frequent DPF regeneration cycles, and in short-trip driving the DPF can become excessively clogged. Warning lights illuminate, and the vehicle enters limp mode with significantly reduced power. Owners who primarily drive short urban distances are most affected.
A forced DPF regeneration can be performed by the dealer using the diagnostic tool. If the DPF is beyond recovery, it must be replaced. Owners should be advised to take regular highway drives of at least 20 minutes to allow passive regeneration. Jaguar TSB JTB00389 covers DPF regeneration procedures.
Est. Cost: $150 - $300 (forced regen) / $2,000 - $4,000 (DPF replacement)Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Bushing Wear
The rear suspension lower control arm bushings wear prematurely, causing a knocking or clunking noise over bumps and uneven road surfaces. Owners also report imprecise rear-end handling and uneven rear tire wear. The issue is most noticeable at low speeds over speed bumps or potholes.
Replace the worn rear lower control arm bushings. The complete control arm assembly is typically replaced as the bushings are pressed in. A four-wheel alignment should be performed after the repair. Jaguar revised the bushing compound in later production.
Est. Cost: $500 - $1,200 (both sides)Electrical Harness Chafing and Intermittent Faults
Wiring harness routing near the engine bay and under the dashboard leads to chafing against body panels, causing intermittent electrical faults. Symptoms include random warning lights, power window malfunctions, and occasional no-start conditions. The issue is exacerbated by vibration over time.
A detailed inspection of the wiring harness is needed to locate the chafe point. The damaged section of the harness must be repaired with proper splice connectors and rerouted with additional protective conduit or loom tape. Jaguar dealers use the guided fault-finding diagnostic to pinpoint the affected circuit.
Est. Cost: $300 - $1,500 depending on the harness section affectedStart-Stop System Battery and Sensor Failure
The intelligent start-stop system fails to function or the engine stalls when the system attempts to restart at traffic lights. The issue is linked to a degraded AGM battery or a faulty battery monitoring sensor (BMS). Owners see a 'Smart Charging System Fault' or 'Start-Stop Not Available' message on the dash.
Replace the AGM battery with an OEM-specification unit and perform a battery registration procedure with the dealer diagnostic tool so the BMS can recalibrate. If the BMS sensor itself has failed, it must be replaced separately. Using a non-AGM battery will cause repeated start-stop faults.
Est. Cost: $300 - $600 (battery and registration) / $200 - $400 (BMS sensor)2 NHTSA safety recalls for the 2019 Jaguar Xe. Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov
