2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Both the 3.0L supercharged V6 and 5.0L supercharged V8 engines develop coolant leaks from the water pump gasket, thermostat housing, and coolant crossover pipes. The leak may be slow at first, presenting as a sweet smell and low coolant warnings, but can worsen rapidly. The V8's higher operating temperatures accelerate the failure.

Replace the leaking components — water pump, thermostat housing, or crossover pipe O-rings — depending on the leak source. A complete cooling system pressure test should identify all leak points before beginning repairs. JLR TSB LTB00589 covers coolant path repairs on the AJ-series engines.

The air suspension compressor fails prematurely, often due to overwork from compensating for slow air leaks in the struts or air lines. The vehicle drops to its lowest setting and displays 'Suspension Fault' warnings. The compressor relay can also burn out from continuous cycling. The problem is accelerated by frequent use of the raised off-road ride heights.

Replace the air suspension compressor, relay, and air dryer. Perform a leak-down test on all four air struts and the air line connections before installing the new compressor. Leaking struts must be replaced simultaneously to prevent the new compressor from failing prematurely.

The Touch Pro Duo dual-screen infotainment system freezes, reboots, or shows a blank screen. Navigation provides incorrect routing, and the system frequently loses GPS lock. The lower screen, which controls climate and terrain settings, is particularly prone to touch input failure. Bluetooth and USB connectivity are also unreliable.

Update to the latest infotainment software via the dealer. JLR has released multiple patches to address stability. If software updates fail, the infotainment control module or display panels may need replacement. TSB LTB00726 covers infotainment system diagnostics.

The rear differential mounting bushings wear out, causing a clunking noise during gear changes and a vibration felt through the cabin at highway speeds. The worn bushings allow the differential to shift on its mounts, which can also lead to driveshaft angle issues and accelerated wear on the universal joints.

Replace the rear differential mounting bushings. JLR offers upgraded bushings with improved durability. The driveshaft and universal joints should be inspected during the repair. A four-wheel alignment is recommended after the repair to ensure correct geometry.

The brake vacuum pump on diesel-equipped models fails, resulting in a hard brake pedal and significantly reduced braking assistance. A 'Brake Assist Fault' warning appears, and the brake pedal requires substantially more force to achieve normal stopping distances. This is a safety-critical failure that requires immediate attention.

Replace the brake vacuum pump assembly. The vacuum lines and check valve should also be inspected for leaks. The brake booster should be tested to ensure it was not damaged by operating without vacuum assistance. JLR recall R/2018/209 addresses brake vacuum pump failures on certain diesel models.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, which can result in suspension arm detachment.

Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 5, 2025. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Range Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under Recall 19V-392, however the repair may not have been completed properly. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Unlatched doors may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began November 30, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Land Rover's number for this recall is N476.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ranger Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

The unlatched door may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began July 18, 2019. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N335. Note: Vehicles in this recall were previously recalled under recall number 15V-385 and need to be remedied again.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured December 16, 2013, to April 15, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the owner's handbook information may incorrectly describe the functionality of the Air Bag Status Indicator Lamp. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

An occupant that does not correctly understand the air bag functionality, may be at an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Range Rover vehicles manufactured July 26, 2012, to March 9, 2015, and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured February 18, 2013, to March 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the doors may unlatch unexpectedly when closed.

If a vehicle door unlatches, the distraction may increase the risk of a crash and/or a vehicle occupant may fall out of the vehicle if they are not wearing a seatbelt, increasing their risk of injury.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to February 5, 2015, and 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured June 16, 2013, to February 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a light weight adult front seat passenger may be improperly classified by the occupant classification system (OCS) and, as a result, the front seat passenger air bag may be disabled.

If the front passenger air bag is disabled during a vehicle crash, there is an increased risk of injury.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014-2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to February 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed allowing a hole to be worn ito it.

If a hole is worn into the brake vacuum hose, a complete loss of braking assistance could occur, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it, as necessary, free of charge. Any brake vacuum hose that is damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began March 2, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires subsequently lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure.

If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
